Gary Neville makes ‘shocking’ Cole Palmer remark as Nottingham Forest hatch plan to stop him

Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as they prepare to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League

As Nottingham Forest prepare to visit Stamford Bridge, Gary Neville feels Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is “not far off” being the best player in the Premier League.

Following Palmer’s four goals in Chelsea’s 4-2 victory over Brighton, manager Enzo Maresca labeled him the Premier League’s finest player. He scored all four goals in the first half at Stamford Bridge, and the Blues face Forest at home in the Premier League on Sunday (2pm).
“I remember when Mohamed Salah scored those goals all those years ago, and I thought, ‘He won’t repeat that in the second season, he won’t repeat that in the third season,’ and Cole Palmer is just going and utterly astonishing me with what he’s doing.

“I can’t believe he’s at this level, and the fact that he wasn’t playing for England at the European Championship in the summer now seems stupid.

“And it seems even more ridiculous that Manchester City, who have been unbelievable in the transfer market, have let one of their own go.”
