Manchester United set sights on 24-year-old Sunderland ace, valued at £20m

Manchester United is keeping an eye on Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, according to a report by reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon.

Sunderland is a squad known for nurturing young players, having produced numerous gifted players who have advanced through the academy system and joined Wearside’s first team.

One player who has established himself in the Black Cats’ starting lineup over the last several seasons is Anthony Patterson. It’s no secret that he’s become one of the top goalkeepers in the nation outside of the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has been connected to numerous elite teams, and new claims have revealed a new name.

Reporter Alan Nixon claims that Manchester United, one of the biggest teams in the Premier League, is interested in Sunderland shot-stopper Patterson.

Erik Ten Hag is looking for fresh competition for Andre Onana, and the Black Cats are considering Patterson, who is valued at over £20 million. The “keeper” is said to have admirers in Liverpool and Crystal Palace as well.

Who is the manager of Blackpool?

As a talented English goalkeeper with the best years of his career firmly ahead of him, Patterson is not going to be moving on the cheap any time soon.

That will only be helped by the length of his contract at Sunderland. The Black Cats tied him down to new terms in September of last year, keeping him on a deal at the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2028.
