BBC NWS; La Liga Round Up: Getafe wins for the first time, while Real Sociedad easily defeats Valencia (20h).

Getafe finally won their first league match of the season in Saturday’s early evening La Liga action.

Real Sociedad won for the first time in six games, defeating Rayo Vallecano at home against Leganes.

Etafe 2-0 Alaves.

Getafe has had a horrible start to the 2024/25 season, with no wins in their first seven domestic games.

Despite a challenging period, they were unbeaten in their last three home games before facing Alaves.

Mauro Arambarri’s deflected free kick gave the home side the lead after a tense beginning.

After the restart, VAR was the main focus. Alaves were refused two penalties before Getafe were awarded one. Luis Milla converted the penalty, sending the Estadio Coliseum berserk.

Rayo Vallecano 1–1 Leganes

Rayo Vallecano recorded their third consecutive league draw, extending their undefeated streak to four games.

Last Saturday, they held Atletico Madrid to a draw. Sergio Camello scored his first goal since the opening weekend after only eight minutes.

Rayo attempted to capitalize on James Rodriguez’s miss, but Leganes equalized through Juan Cruz.

Real Sociedad 3-0 Valencia

Real Sociedad welcomed Valencia to San Sebastian following a tough few weeks for the Basque side.

Five consecutive league games without a win has undermined confidence, despite Valencia’s own recent troubles.

Takefusa Kubo’s confident opening goal calmed their concerns.

La Real grabbed the initiative from there, but battled to break through a tenacious Valencia defense until the last 10 minutes.

But as the game began to stall, substitute Orri Oskarsson grabbed his chance and scored twice late on, opening his La Liga account.
