“It’s carnage” – Pundit criticises Reading situation following collapsed takeover bid

“It’s carnage” – Pundit criticises Reading situation following collapsed takeover bid.

Following the failure of the most recent potential takeover, Ady Williams has criticized the most recent happenings at Reading.

In response to the Royals’ 2-1 victory over Huddersfield Town, there were more demonstrations on Saturday.

The BBC announced earlier this month that Rob Couhig’s offer to take over the club has fallen through.

Supporters of the League One team hope that current owner Dai Yongge will sell his ownership of the Berkshire team, as this is a serious blow to the team.

Yongge has presided over years of deterioration and financial mismanagement; in the last few seasons, the EFL has frequently placed the club under transfer embargo and assessed points deduction penalties.

Williams has criticized the state of affairs at Reading and expressed his sympathies to the players, management, staff, and supporters in the wake of Couhig’s takeover attempt failing.

He has declared that the circumstances are sad and said that there is bloodshed going on at the club.

Williams remarked via Sky Sports on Twitter, “What’s happened at this football club, boardroom level, off the pitch, is nothing short of a disgrace.”

“It’s bloodshed right now.

When Rob Couhig entered, it appeared that this would be the final agreement, and I thought, “Reading fans can now finally put this to rest.”

“Despite all of these boycotts, demonstrations, pitch invasions, and other actions, Mr. Couhig left for an unspecified reason, and we’re back.”

“It is a tragedy for these Reading fans, for the backroom staff, for the players, the manager, everybody connected with the club.

“It is carnage off the pitch.”

Williams makes rock bottom Reading claim

Williams thinks that Reading is not even at its lowest point and that, in the next 18 months or two years, the club’s future may be in jeopardy.

He continued, “I keep thinking that this is the lowest point.”

“The embargo, the lowest point in terms of signing players and recruiting, the deduction of points, the lowest point.”

“The lowest moment is protests and the game being abandoned.

However, the list is not finished.

“Is this the lowest point? Probably not, I don’t think this is the lowest point.

“Right now, Reading fans are concerned that we won’t have a football club in 18 months, two years, that would be the lowest point.

“Trust me, we don’t want to get anywhere near that.

“These players, supporters, and backroom crew don’t deserve what’s happening to them.

It is quite disheartening.

“All I can do is hope and pray that we can resolve this.”

“I don’t support protests, of course, but the Reading supporters want to be heard.

“Peaceful protests, which thankfully have been heard, are necessary because this story is so unbelievable that it couldn’t have been scripted.”

Ruben Selles

Reading takeover situation is unfair on everyone involved with the club

Reading’s players, supporters, personnel in the backroom, and management all deserve better than what Yongge’s ownership has to offer.

The club’s continued existence will undoubtedly be called into question if a new buyer cannot be found within the ensuing year.

In the midst of all of this turmoil off the field, the team has done a fantastic job of maintaining their performance.

A lot of praise should also go to Ruben Selles for tolerating a tremendous deal of uncertainty and for assembling a strong League One team this season.
