BBC NEWS; David Silva believes former Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil can turn things around at the club.

Real Sociedad has had a really difficult start to the season. After seven La Liga games, they have had one victory (against Real Valladolid), and they are now 16th in the standings. Nice also held them in their first league phase encounter in the Europa League.

Despite receiving public support from La Real sporting director Roberto Olabe earlier this week, head coach Imanol Alguacil is facing mounting criticism. According to Diario AS, David Silva, who retired from the Basque club in the summer of 2023, feels that his former boss should be given more time to improve matters.

“Imanol is an excellent coach for Real Sociedad. Let anyone dispute it. La Real is currently, and I’m not sure if it will be in the future, unbeatable. In football, we tend to focus on the positive aspects and grumble when challenges arise. However, Imanol is an excellent coach. Without him, La Real would not have reached their current success.

“Real Sociedad has been at the top for years and I believe they will return.” There were changes in the team, and they must adjust.
