BBC NEWS; Scott Allan reacts to Rangers v Hibernian controversy live on BBC Sportsound

BBC NWS; Scott Allan responds to the Rangers v Hibernian debate live on BBC Sportsound.

Rangers Hibernian

Scott Allan has claimed that Hibernian’s Nectarios Triantis did properly to win the ball despite a yellow card against Rangers at Ibrox on September 29.

During the 1-0 victory, the Australian midfielder engaged in a challenge on Robin Propper, causing the fans to demand a red card.

VAR reviewed the call and supported Nick Walsh, with Allan conceding that no one would have withdrawn out of the challenge had the ball gotten away.

During a live interview with BBC Sportsound [29 September, 12:31], Allan stated, “He does well to win the ball.”

“It is getting away from him. Ask any footballer; they can’t get out of that one.

“Hibs are unhappy because the players don’t think it was bad and they were on the attack.”

Rangers controversy sparked by nothing?

While the tackle was relatively reckless, it was evident that Triantis had slipped, and the yellow card and foul were sufficient at the time.

Of course, Hibs would be upset since they would have gone through on goal, but touching the ball does not guarantee a decent tackle anymore.

Triantis’ response was over the top, and the event was quickly forgotten.

Philippe Clement, who was observing, wanted to keep things quiet, despite his players’ obvious fatigue from the start.

The victory is all that matters, and with another important Europa League match against Lyon coming up, which Mohamed Diomande will miss, no additional difficulties will be welcomed.

Propper rebounded well from the incident and helped his team keep another clean sheet and three wins, which is all that matters right now.
