With goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Paulo Bernardo, Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda, and Adam Idah, the Bhoys thrashed the Perth team 6-0.

Celtic was just unstoppable, exhibiting goals and possession quality that surpassed even their eight previous victories this season.

Naturally happy with his team, Rodgers waxed poetic about what he saw in Daizen Maeda and the others during the ninety minutes.

The manager stated, “I thought we were excellent,” to BBC Radio Scotland. The team’s mindset was evident from the moment the whistle was blown. It was impossible for the players to do more. Each of them was an excellent goal in and of itself.

My main contribution to differentiating this team is our hunger and counter-pressing mindset. That was shown by Daizen Maeda, who came back in and won the ball back from their goalscorer in the 86th minute. You have a great opportunity when you have that on your team in addition to talent and organization. The game included a lot of significant moments, but that one was my personal favorite.

“It’s a special gift that he has. He’s such a catalyst for everyone else. Our clean sheet record, our mentality, it all starts from the front. Everyone has to do it. Players like him are so important within that. He’s getting his reward for all that work by scoring consistently.”

Celtic carry momentum into Dortmund test

For Celtic, things are becoming harder now. However, that should be celebrated rather than feared. On Tuesday night, Celtic will head to Dortmund with all the confidence they can muster.

For a very long time, the Bhoys haven’t been as prepared as they are for a test in Europe, so it seems sense that they are excited about what lies ahead.

The Germans have conceded seven goals in their last two games, demonstrating a recent defensive weakness. Celtic could deal a few blows to the home team if they can once more display a merciless edge in front of goal.
