For Gary O’Neil to remain employed at Wolves, he must win one of his next four games. That’s the blunt assessment of former Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood, who thinks the 41-year-old needs to take action quickly to keep his position as manager of the Premier League’s bottom-dwelling team. Today at 5.30 p.m., Wolves takes on Liverpool at Molineux in an attempt to win their first league game of the year. With just a draw against Nottingham Forest from their first five games of the season, they are currently bottom of the standings. Their current run of results has already resulted in a -14 goal difference.

Sherwood, who was fired by Villa in 2015 following six straight losses, is all too familiar with how rapidly things can change for a manager in the top flight of England. In February 2015, he was only named Villans’ manager seven months earlier. Glenn Sherwood stated on Saturday on Sky Sports Soccer that Gary “won’t be able to catch his breath at the moment.”To gain confidence for the upcoming games, he needs to secure some sort of victory.

It will be quite difficult for him to keep his job if he doesn’t obtain at least one outcome from the next four games, in my opinion. So far this season, Wolves has given up 14 goals in the Premier League. Sherwood thinks that O’Neil should put his team’s performance first. First and foremost, he needs to look for a solution that will be difficult to defeat. He needs to look for a solution because they aren’t scoring many goals. But it’s quite challenging. It’s not as simple as it seems.
