Ally McCoist raves about Rangers signing he thinks is doing 'exceptionally well'

Ally McCoist believes that one of Philippe Clement’s summer additions has made a flying start at Rangers.

While this new-look squad begins to take shape, growing in confidence and unity by the week, Robin Propper, Jefte Vital, Hamza Igamane, and others gain influence by the week.

From the start, Connor Barron distinguished himself from his Rangers colleagues.

While Clement wanted to gradually integrate Propper, Jefte, and the rest of the team, Barron was thrown into the starting lineup as soon as the season began. And the former Aberdeen teenager has repaid his manager’s confidence with a string of brilliant, imposing displays.

Ryan Jack, Barron’s predecessor at Ibrox, praised his effect on the Rangers.

Both having come in Glasgow from Aberdeen, the latter delivered another performance to be proud of as Rangers surged to a 2-0 win away at Malmo in Thursday’s Europa League debut.

Ally McCoist raves about Connor Barron’s start at Rangers

McCoist, meanwhile, believes the youngster’s fast start should not be overlooked.

Barron has flourished despite Rangers’ roughest days, slotting smoothly into a midfield devoid of the seasoned Jack and John Lundstram. Only two months after turning 22, he has already established himself as a pillar of consistency.

“I think he’s started very well,” the former striker tells TNT Sports. McCoist also praises Rangers recruit Neraysho Kasanwirjo.

“There were several things working against [Barron]. The team is under pressure. It’s much simpler to join a successful team.

“So I think Connor Barron is doing exceptionally well.”

Barron has now made 10 appearances, nine of which have come from the start, making him a fixture in this Rangers XI.
