Despite Premier League transfer interest, Tom Fellows is totally committed to the West Bromwich Albion project.
In the summer, Southampton and Ipswich Town made unsuccessful approaches for West Brom’s wonderkid winger. Top-tier clubs continue to monitor his growth.
Albion, on the other hand, are determined to keep their man, having turned down offers worth between £10 million and £11 million in late August. Fellows has had a successful start to the season, with four assists in six Championship starts.
Fellows, who recently scored his first competitive goal for England’s under-21 team, is pleased with the development achieved at West Brom. The youth product has praised manager Carlos Corberan’s impact and been open about the club’s promotion prospects.
“He [Corberan] gave me my opportunity so obviously I’m really thankful for the chance to play and to prove I can perform at this level,” Fellows told broadcaster Sky Sports.
“He’s been quite helpful to me. It’s a lot of detail and information to process, but it gets easier after a while. It’s as if not having that level of detail would make things more difficult. This is why the team is currently performing so well.
“The Championship is so tough and doesn’t really start until around Christmas, but you have to be in the thick of it to have a chance. It’s been a great start, but we know there’s still a long way to go. I hope we can keep going.
“After coming so close last season, it definitely motivates you to go one step further. “To get there at the club where I grew up would feel like the greatest accomplishment possible,” Fellows concluded.
