Paul Merson makes big statement about West Ham ahead of Brentford clash – ‘I’d be shocked’

Paul Merson has made a really big call ahead of the Brentford vs West Ham United clash on Saturday.

West Ham go to West London tomorrow afternoon to face Brentford in the Premier League, where a strong performance and result will be critical for Julen Lopetegui.
And Paul Merson has stated that he will be amazed if anything specific does not occur.Things are looking dark at the London Stadium right now, and we sorely need a positive result against Brentford.

West Ham have already been dealt a blow with the announcement that the game against the Bees will be officiated by Simon Hooper and David Coote.

However, Thomas Frank is not without his own challenges.

Brentford could be without up to eight crucial players for the Hammers game, so the door is absolutely wide open for us.

But what does Merson believe the outcome will be?

Paul Merson makes big West Ham statement ahead of Brentford

The outcome of this weekend’s game will have a significant impact on the Hammers’ chances of finishing in the top seven of the table.
I am hoping to see a strong reaction from the players against Brentford.

However, Paul Merson appears to be expecting the reverse.

The well-known football analyst penned his regular column for Sportskeeda and projected the outcome of the London Derby.

He stated he would be surprised if West Ham did not lose.wow!

Merson explained, “I tell you what, West Ham are in serious trouble! I often say, “Be careful what you wish for.” They fired David Moyes after he won a European trophy, and the new manager is struggling.

“They play Brentford next, and I’d be surprised if they don’t lose,” he added. “I don’t see a lot between these teams on paper, but the way they’re playing at the moment, there’s certainly a huge gap.”

“Julen Lopetegui must achieve a positive result in the next few games. West Ham fans will be dissatisfied with what they have seen so far this season. In terms of talent, that team is one of their best in history. But they’re not gelling on the pitch, and the manager hasn’t decided on his best XI.”

“Everyone will expect West Ham to turn up and win, so this is a really difficult game for them due to the added pressure and worrying form.”

Prediction: Brentford 1-0 West Ham.

See, I’m unsure about this one. I understand that we have been awful, but I believe the players have a significant point to show.

Time for West Ham players to rise up and be counted.
So far this season, the vast majority of Hammers players have failed to impress Lopetegui and his fans.

It’s time for them to stand up and be counted.

I’d like to see significant progress from our big players. Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, and Mohammed Kudus all need to improve.

Meanwhile, Carlos Soler, Niclas Fullkrug, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Crysencio Summerville must be effectively integrated into the team by Lopetegui.

The Hammers have a challenging month ahead of them, with games against Brentford, Tottenham, and Manchester United.

A win against the Bees would be an excellent way for Lopetegui and his squad to get things started this season.

And I believe we can pick up the three points.

Unlike Paul Merson, I expect West Ham to win Brentford tomorrow.
