Paul Merson has warning for Nottingham Forest ahead of Fulham match and tells them to ‘be careful’

Nottingham Forest are still looking to provide the City Ground crowd with their first victory of the season.

The Reds have fared well on the road, with seven of their nine points coming from three away games.
Nuno Espirito Santo can be very pleased with Forest’s start to the season, as they remain one of the only unbeaten teams in the league.

However, on Saturday, they will face Fulham, who are only one point below the Reds after five games.

Forest are already being warned about what could happen in the coming weeks, despite their unblemished start.

Paul Merson issues Nottingham Forest warning

Forest will return to the City Ground without their prized asset following Morgan Gibbs-White’s red card against Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, Nuno has plenty of choices for Saturday, with Gibbs-White’s absence giving some of the other midfielders a chance to prove themselves.

Sky Sports commentator Paul Merson has warned Forest that they will remain unbeaten but not win enough games.

“I believe Fulham is one of the league’s clubs capable of upsetting the big boys. But I still believe they will only get a draw here,” he told Sportskeeda.

“This means Forest will remain unbeaten, but they must be careful not to draw too many games. It’s no good being unbeaten with five draws. You’d be in trouble the moment you faced your first defeat.

“For me, this is a game Forest should really want to win because they are playing at home. But they’ll be delighted with a point, which is a good start for them.

Nottingham Forest need to end their winless run at the City Ground

Forest have drew at home this season against Bournemouth and Wolves, earning only two points out of a possible six.

And in both of those games, Forest allowed their lead to slip, which will have been extremely frustrating for the home supporters.

The City Ground has not witnessed a victory since April, when the Reds beat Fulham 3-1.

Although Merson’s warning comes after only five games, there is some truth to what he has said, yet any Forest supporter would have welcomed an unbeaten start.
