O’Neil could now bench Larsen and unleash Wolves’ “lightning” star
This weekend, Wolves hampton Wanderers will take on yet another challenging assignment in the Premier League as they look to earn their first three points of the year. With matches against Arsenal, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and now Liverpool in the first six, Gary O’Neil’s team has been dealt a bad draw.
The Old Gold can begin to look forward more optimistically if they can manage to leave the match against the Anfield team with a point or better. Jorgen Strand Larsen may start the game on the bench this weekend as O’Neil makes a few changes for the match.
Jorgen Strand Larsen’s statistical matchup with Villa
Despite just having one goal for the Molineux team, the striker on loan was assigned to start at the front of the attack against Villa last weekend. Larsen didn’t play too badly, but Wolves lost 3-1 despite having the lead. He made two attempts at goal, prevailed in four of his six aerial duels, and only gave up the ball twice during the game—though only on twelve of those times did he touch it. His confidence will soon start to surge; all he needs to do now is transform these performances into goals.
