Tavernier, currently in his tenth season at Ibrox, has won the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, and League Cup, as well as helping Rangers reach the Europa League final in 2022.

During his career in Glasgow, he scored 126 goals and assisted 132 times, making him the all-time leading British defender.

However, he has endured criticism since signing in 2015, most recently during Rangers’ 3-0 defeat at Celtic Park, when supporters waited outside Ibrox for players to return to show their dissatisfaction with performances and outcomes.

A look back on some of Tavernier’s finest Scottish Premiership goals for Rangers.

Tavernier stated to Sky Sports that it is a natural part of the game experience. “You see that all around the nation.

“As supporters, they want to express their dissatisfaction; you can understand how furious people are, and certainly, we as players are unhappy as well.

“We never go out there wanting to lose a game, or even draw a game; especially as Rangers players, we want to win. We shall always offer our whole attention to that cause.

“On certain days, it can go too far, but it is in the past and is not something I focus on. I constantly keep looking forward, which clearly encourages me to perform better.”
