Charlton Athletic tease injury boost while Birmingham City tipped to swoop for League One top-scorer

As he recovers from an injury, promising striker Miles Leaburn has received a lot of praise from Nathan Jones.

After the first few weeks of the season, League One is starting to take shape, so expect another hectic weekend of activity.

While Leyton Orient remains in the city to host Wrexham, who are now atop the league, Charlton Athletic will travel to Stevenage for a brief visit.

Miles Leaburn, a talented 20-year-old striker, has been teased by Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones for weeks now. This weekend, the team travels to Stevenage in League One, and Jones has issued another update on the player.

The Welshman stated, via the club website: “Miles is a lot closerin comparisonto where he was before.” We need to be good with his minutes.

“It was a serious injury, albeit a muscular one, so he has to be psychologically ready, and we have to get enough football into him so he can tolerate the physicality of League One football.”

As he recuperates from the injury, Leaburn has been playing for the Addicks under-21 team.Jones hasn’t hesitated to promote the player’s comeback.

He declared earlier in the season, “He is definitely like a new signing for me—and a beautiful new signing. Because, in terms of what we require, he practically checks all the boxes if I were to profile a center-forward.”

Manager of Wrexham commends Leyton Orient

Before travelling to London this weekend to face Richie Wellens’ team, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has heaped praise on Leyton Orient.

After a rocky start to the season, the O’s have won two of their last three league games and have settled into a groove during the international break. Parkinson observed the team during Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw with Peterborough United.

He stated: “It was good for me to be able to see them on Tuesday night. Their last two results, winning at Reading and Stockport, have been good.” We’ll have a strategy, and I can’t wait to visit Brisbane Road, a historic traditional venue, and London.

A transfer to Peterborough United is expected for Birmingham City.

This weekend’s matchup between Birmingham City and Peterborough United comes just days after it was predicted that the Blues will raid their rival’s key player during the impending transfer window.

With Kwame Poku leading the way, Posh are now ranked seventh in League One. With five goals in the league under his belt, the 23-year-old is reportedly drawing interest from other teams.

Barry Fry, the director of football at Peterborough, hinted that Birmingham City would make a move for the forward during his appearance on the Keep Right On podcast this week. “I’m sure Craig [Gardner] will come in for one other player I have, and maybe he’ll come around to my way of thinking,” the speaker stated. He must pay with my money, not his!

Fry identified the player as a 23-year-old winger who is the “top scorer in the league” when prompted with his name.
