Celtic should be thrilled by £10m Hearts news – Keith Wyness

Former Aberdeen manager Keith Wyness has maintained that Celtic should welcome Tony Bloom’s possible investment at Hearts rather than feel intimidated by it.

Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old insisted that the takeover move could result in the creation of a “very competitive league” that will benefit in Europe and with TV money. He previously held extended positions as the CEO of Everton and Aston Villa in addition to his current football consultancy, which advises elite clubs.

Owner of Brighton Bloom is reportedly in talks to invest £10 million in Hearts, according to numerous reports.

If the businessman’s plans to establish his Starlizard sport analysis company in Tynecastle are successful, he will acquire a minority stake in the Edinburgh club.

Hearts trailed eventual champions Celtic by 25 points after finishing third in the Scottish Premiership the previous season.

Bill Foley, the owner of Bournemouth, has also just invested in Hibernian, acquiring a 25% share at Easter Road.
