BBC NEWS; “Dissatisfaction” at West Ham could lead to change as Lopetegui prepares for Brentford.

West Ham fans are dissatisfied with the team’s early performances under Julen Lopetegui.

Only one win in the Spaniard’s first seven games in all competitions has raised worries about his ability to lead the team forward.

However, there appears to be displeasure at the club’s highest levels, with boardroom difficulties being highlighted, according to Football Insider.

Former Everton CEO Kieth Wyness mentioned on FI’s Insider Track podcast that he had heard of some concerns within West Ham’s senior leadership.

“I have a feeling there is a bit of rot starting to set in behind the scenes at the London Stadium,” Wyness told reporters.

“I’ve heard a lot from the club about displeasure in the boardroom. The club is attempting to attract new investors.Reports earlier this summer indicated that NBA great Shaquille O’Neal was considering investing in the Hammers. Last year, Vanessa Gold, David Gold’s daughter, announced plans to sell up to 10% of the family’s 25.1% interest.

David Sullivan owns 38.8% of the team, while Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky acquired a 27% stake in November 2021.

It’s unclear what the current issues are behind the scenes, especially given the club’s success over the last four years, but it does point to more change in the future, following a summer of transition in the playing squad, during which a new manager was hired and approximately £150 million was spent on nine new first-team players.

Major West Ham stockholder becomes wealthier by the year.

Despite fans passionately calling for David Sullivan to sell the club for the better part of a decade, there is no indication that a full takeover is planned at this time, though Wyness’ comments will undoubtedly have many fans hoping that this is the start of the end of the Sullivan era in east London.

Kretinsky’s net worth has increased significantly in the past year, rising from 47th to 33rd on the Sunday Times’ Rich List. His net worth is currently believed to be little less than £13 billion, making him wealthier than the owners of both Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Sullivan, on the other hand, is ‘only’ thought to be worth slightly more than £1 billion.

According to HammersNews, Kretinsky has become the richest owner in the Premier League, trailing only Newcastle and Manchester United.

After Kretinsky purchased his part in the club, there was suspicion that this was the Czech’s first move before purchasing the entire club and becoming the main shareholder.

There is no evidence that this is going to happen, but considering his ever-increasing net wealth, it’s not like he can’t afford it, right?
