West Brom represent a tough challenge for Sheffield Wednesday, who have struggled to find their feet since signing Ike Ugbo in the summer.
The Owls oversaw a significant revamp of their playing roster during the summer transfer window, with manager Danny Rohl supported by the club hierarchy. However, since thumping Plymouth Argyle on the opening day, things haven’t gone as expected.
Wednesday is winless in their last five games, having lost four. Last time out, Luton Town defeated Rohl’s side 2-1 at Kenilworth Road.
West Brom have won five and drawn one of their first six Championship games, putting them at the top of the table.
Carlos Corberan’s team has now won four straight league games after a 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle, led by Wayne Rooney. Josh Maja scored again, his sixth in as many games.
Many saw the Baggies as potential promotion challengers, but few expected such an impressive start.

“Sheffield Wednesday may have hoped for better results in the early stages of this new chapter, but there is no need to panic just yet.” A terrible start to the season is not ideal, but I am convinced they will improve and move up the table.

West Brom’s Josh Maja and Tom Fellows are dominating Championship defences. Given Wednesday’s challenges, it’s difficult not to see the Baggies duo enjoying delight again this weekend.
