The throwback starting lineup from Burnley’s thrilling 2000 comeback victory against Oxford United – gallery Burnley will play Oxford United this weekend for the first time in nearly 25 years.
The Clarets’ most recent meeting with the U’s took place before the Kassam Stadium was built, therefore Burnley will be visiting Oxford for the first time on Saturday.
In April 2000, the last meeting was held at the Manor Ground in front of 7,549 people.
After falling behind 1-0 to Matt Murphy’s goal for the home team in the 13th minute, Stan Ternent’s team had to rally to win 2-1.
But goals from Paul Weller and Steve Davis in the last five minutes saw the Clarets accomplish an incredible comeback.

1. Paul Crichton

2. Ian Cox

3. Steve Davis
The centre-back made over 300 appearances for the Clarets across two spells, first between 1991 and 1995 before joining Luton Town, eventually returning in 1998 for another five-year stint. 4. Mitchell Thomas
