Ex-Celtic hero makes important call, Rangers CEO link is destroyed, and flamboyant boss bids for Hearts post

Ainsworth taking over for Hearts

Gareth Ainsworth, the former manager of Wycombe and QPR, is rumored to have applied for the Hearts position. The colorful 51-year-old has reportedly thrown his hat into the ring and hasn’t been in the dugout since leaving the Loftus Road team last season.

After parting ways with Steven Naismith over the weekend, Hearts executives are assembling a shortlist for their next head coach this week. The information from Tony Bloom’s Starlizard algorithms is anticipated to be utilized by the Jambos in their pursuit of the best applicant.

Andrew McKinlay, the CEO of Hearts, maintains that he has not been contacted by Rangers about the potential of accepting the same position at Ibrox. Since James Bisgrove left at the end of the previous season, the Light Blues have been looking for a new CEO. Throughout the summer, McKinlay and Jim Gillespie, the vice-chairman of St. Mirren, have been mentioned as potential contenders.

McKinlay, who was hired by Hearts in August 2020, told Sky Sports, “I can put on record very clearly that I’ve had no conversations with Rangers and Rangers have had no conversations with me.” “There have been press reports, but I’m not sure where they originated. There have been rumors in the media about other people who were set to take over as CEO, but those plans fell through. What the Rangers have planned for the future is unknown to me. I hope their search goes well, but I am fully committed to my work with Hearts, and I will continue to give it my all in that regard.

Brown is no longer in the running

Scott Brown, the manager of Ayr United, will remain at Somerset Park despite rumors that he is a front-runner for the St Johnstone position. The 39-year-old, who formerly played for Celtic and Hibs, is thought to have spoken with McDiarmid Park officials and leads Ayr in the Championship. But it seems that the Honest Men have his best interests at heart.

Prior to intensifying his cancer treatment, the chairman of St Johnstone wishes to appoint his future manager. Coach Peter Leven of Aberdeen and Larne’s Tiernan Lynch have also been strongly connected to the position.

Hibs expected to receive all allotment

Hibs will receive all of the tickets allotted for their away Premiership fixture against Rangers on Sunday. The Easter Road club’s expectation of receiving slightly over 900 tickets is believed to have changed, despite concerns raised by construction work at Ibrox on the quantity of briefs they would receive.

Now that it’s unclear if they would be able to attend, Hibs has a little window of time to convince its supporters to buy them. Due to the delayed arrival of materials for the Copland Road Stand project, which is almost finished, the Rangers’ home field has been in a state of upheaval.
