Contact made: Aston Villa eye move to pip Newcastle to 24 y/o free transfer.

Aston Villa reportedly have their eyes on a free transfer in 2025, however, Newcastle United are in talks to seal a deal of their own.

Aston Villa transfer rumours

With eight players acquired throughout the transfer window, NSWE and Monchi had a very successful summer. Under Unai Emery, Amadou Onana, Ian Maatsen, Jaden Philogene, and Ross Barkley all signed long-term contracts to join Villa Park and have made appearances in the Premier League this year.

Douglas Luiz left to join Juventus in a transaction that also included Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea; however, the two have been loaned to Bologna and Valencia, respectively. Lewis Dobbin also arrived and then left on loan, while Cameron Archer was brought back to the team from Sheffield United before being sold to Southampton.

After a hectic few months in the Midlands, Monchi acknowledged earlier this month that Villa had to be willing to sell as well as buy if they hope to compete at the highest levels.”We have to sell everything if we want to be at the top. Our stadium prevents us from raising additional funds due to its profitability. The profit must be viewed as revenue.

“We must keep in mind that selling a player generates revenue in the future. because we are unable to earn extra money. Selling players to raise the level was acceptable while Damian and I worked in Valencia and Sevilla, respectively. I think the most crucial thing is to purchase quality players rather than selling guys.

“We didn’t hesitate to sell players, but we had to stick to the plan. We must, in my opinion, sell players since they are sold by City, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. We don’t mind selling players; getting a buyer and purchasing a replacement player are the two most crucial things.”

There have been rumors of further incomings even though they might need to sell in 2025. Richard King, the defender, and Semih Kilicsoy, the winger for Besiktas, and Ryan Rocha, the striker for Brazil’s U20 national team, all been linked to a move to Villa Park recently.

Jonathan David of Lille has also been mentioned as a potential target. Villa is reportedly in the running to sign the Canada international, according to reports from earlier this month. However, new information has surfaced.

Aston Villa is in contact regarding the transfer of Jonathan David.

As to Graeme Bailey, a writer, and The Boot Room, David and Newcastle United are negotiating a possible pre-contract agreement for January.

The article also states that Aston Villa, along with Arsenal, Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, and West Ham United, have also been in contact and asked to be kept updated on the issue, meaning the Magpies aren’t the only Premier League team David’s representatives are speaking with.

Many English suitors seem to have been made aware of the potential of signing the “mind-blowing” striker, so Villa may need to move quickly to secure the 24-year-old.
