‘Strong development’ as Celtic seriously position for signing – Could pay €10m for ‘super talent’

Bazoumana Touré

We reported on Swedish reports last month that Celtic was interested in Bazoumana Touré of Hammarby IF. The team of Brendan Rodgers didn’t approach him during the summer window, but they are still closely monitoring him.

Footballdirekt, who provides the most recent information on Celtic’s interest in the 18-year-old, claims as much.

In March 2024, Touré signed a contract with Hammarby from Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas, with a term that extended until December 2028. For the Swedish team, the winger has performed admirably, tallying three assists and six goals in 16 games.

Several clubs have expressed interest in his displays. Celtic, Crystal Palace, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Benfica are among the teams on the list. The Scottish champions are “seriously interested,” the report claims.

Joe Lefevre, the chief scout for Celtic, is in Stockholm to observe the player in action for Hammarby up close. Touré is reported to have impressed the Bhoys representative.

A “strong development” is allegedly anticipated about his future, as Celtic positions themselves to sign the juvenile.

For their “super talent,” Hammarby hopes to get €10 million. Whether Brendan Rodgers’ team is willing to match their request is not mentioned in the report.
