Former Premier League referee Chris Foy feels that Hull City, who overcame a goal deficit to win 3-1 and secure their first victory of the season, were fortunate to receive their game-changing penalty against Stoke City on Friday night.

Eric Bocat tripped Mohamed Belloumi inside the box, and shortly after the hour mark, referee Ben Toner signaled for a penalty kick at the bet365 Stadium, with City behind 1-0 following Ben Wilmot’s first-half header.

Replays showed Chris Bedia was offside when Liam Millar’s playful cross entered the area and he went airborne, but referee Toner signaled the spot after talking with his assistant in response to Bocat’s careless challenge on Belloumi.
