“I’m all for Celtic” – Former Hoops Winger Hopes for Rangers Misery in European Clash

Sead Haksabanovic, a former Celtic winger, is looking forward to his Malmo team’s match against Rangers tomorrow despite being injured.

Haksabanovic will miss the game due to a groin injury he has been dealing with for some weeks.

Regardless, the 25-year-old will support his team from the sidelines as they look to get off to a strong start in the Europa League.

Ahead of Malmo’s match against Rangers in Sweden tomorrow, Haksabanovic has confessed his long-standing admiration for Celtic and believes his new squad has a decent chance of beating Philippe Clement’s side.

“Tomorrow’s game will be special for me because I played for Celtic and I’m a Celtic fan,” he told Football Scotland.

“Of course, I want to win tomorrow, but it’s also special because I played for Celtic, and I want my side to win and get the Europa League off to a strong start.

“I’m still injured, which is sad because I really want to play. If we do everything perfectly, listen to the management, and stick to our game plan, we’ll have a nice night tomorrow.

“I haven’t actually spoken with anyone at Celtic. I believe in what we have here. It’s all about discipline; we know we’re capable, so we must do it.

“It would be extremely beneficial to the entire club, not just me. “Having a successful start in the Europa League would be fantastic.

Malmo is currently full of confidence after defeating Hacken 4-0 over the weekend.

They are currently leading the Swedish Allsvenskan and will look to beat the Ibrox club tomorrow.

Malmo has had previous success versus Rangers, as has Haksabanovic.

Despite never scoring against the Gers, he appeared in several Glasgow derbies as Celtic won the treble under Ange Postecoglou in 2022/23.

The Montenegrin’s time with the Bhoys was, however, tainted by a telling social media post in which he intimated that he felt undervalued by the club.

After a loan to Stoke, Haksabanovic left the Scottish Premiership champions permanently in the summer.
