Celtic well placed to dominate Rangers after landing ‘£50m’ – Stefan Borson

Celtic well placed to dominate Rangers after landing ‘£50m’ – Stefan Borson.

Celtic’s Champions League qualification may give them a £50 million advantage over Rangers this season.

According to financial expert Stefan Borson, who spoke with Football Insider exclusively, Celtic are now in a strong position to continue and dominate financially now that Rangers have been forced to settle for a Europa League spot.

On September 16, Celtic released their 2023–24 financial statements. They showed that their revenue increased by 3.9% from £119.9 million to a new club record of £124.6 million.

The fact that Brendan Rodgers’ team won the Scottish Cup, the Scottish Premiership, and qualified for the Champions League made sure they turned a profit for the third consecutive year.

Celtic’s latest financial figures are far in excess of Rangers’s after they generated £83.75million of revenue in 2022-23, with a similar figure anticipated for last season.

Celtic have ‘enormous’ financial advantage over Rangers

Borson said that since Celtic’s finances have improved recently, they are in a favourable situation.

Football Insider was informed by Borson that “their wage bill is more under control than most Premier League teams.”

They are, in a sense, in a pretty good location.

Celtic may have a £50 million edge over Rangers this season thanks to their Champions League qualification.

The fact that Brendan Rodgers’ club qualified for the Champions League, won the Scottish Premiership, and the Scottish Cup ensured that they made money for the third year running.

It gives them a significant edge against Rangers, who will not have access to the roughly £50 million that comes from the group stages.

“It’s definitely quite close, even though it might not be as much as £50 million.

“I think they are in quite a good spot to dominate financially; they just have an enormous advantage over the Rangers.”
