Luis Palma was battling to save Celtic career BEFORE social media outburst as Brendan Rodgers next move predicted

The Honduran has suffered blowback from his own followers following posts made online.

Brendan Rodgers has informed Celtic periphery player Luis Palma that he will not be able to return to the first-team squad.

Michael Stewart believes his performance against Falkirk in the Premier Sports Cup has only served to drive the Honduran further down the pecking order at Celtic Park, and that was before his recent cryptic social media statement. Palma has struggled to make an impact this season, making only three substitute appearances – but he was given his first start of the season against the Bairns.

However, he was hooked after 60 minutes and has since drawn the fury of the Hoops’ ardent supporters. Following the game, the 24-year-old shared a quote in Spanish to his Instagram story discussing his resilience and adversity, drawing harsh comparisons from Celtic fans to former Rangers’ player Todd Cantwell, who was heavily criticised for his social media antics before joining Blackburn Rovers last summer.

The Scottish Premiership winners rejected down interest in the winger at the conclusion of the summer window, just a year after his £4.1 million move to Glasgow’s east end. Stewart, a former Hearts and Hibs midfielder, believes Rodgers may be looking to sell in January.

According to the commentator, Luis Palma’s chances of returning are uncertain due to the intense competition. I’m not sure how he’ll make his way back to Celtic.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he was transferred somewhere else before January because I don’t see him having the impact you would have hoped for and expected. “He was a big summer transfer last year, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Palma moves on.”
