Due to the additional money that Celtic will receive by participating in the Champions League, their revenue is probably going to rise once more this season.
According to financial analyst Stefan Borson, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider, the Glasgow giants are “unique” because they are the only Scottish team participating in the top club league in European football.
On September 16, Celtic released their 2023–24 financial statements. They showed that their revenue increased by 3.9% from £119.9 million to a new club record of £124.6 million.
The fact that Brendan Rodgers’ team won the Scottish Cup, the Scottish Premiership, and qualified for the Champions League made sure they turned a profit for the third consecutive year.
After winning all five of their league games and defeating Falkirk 5-2 to get to the Scottish League Cup semi-finals, Celtic has had a great start to the season.
They also triumphed in their first match of the Champions League’s new league phase, defeating Slovan Bratislava 5-1.
Celtic revenue to increase after on-field progress
Borson anticipates that as long as the team keeps improving on the pitch, income will rise for the team once more this season. “£125 million is quite a lot,” he said to Football Insider.
