Adam Idah spells out the difference between training at Celtic and Norwich City.
Adam Idah has finalised his major move from Norwich City to Celtic after a summer of heated speculation.
Idah made a big impact on Brendan Rodgers while on loan, scoring crucial goals that helped Celtic win both the league and the Scottish Cup the previous year. Celtic paid £9.5 million to sign him.
The striker for the Republic of Ireland has revealed how training at Celtic differs from that of Norwich City since he joined the team.
Adam Idah did participate in Norwich’s preseason, but after Norwich City changed managers, he struggled to get game time. To be honest, though, he did appear a little rusty when making his Celtic debut against St. Mirren this season.
‘Intense’ Celtic training ready’s Idah for season ahead
Almost two months into his second stint at Celtic, Idah has talked about how training at Parkhead differs from that at Norwich City. In actuality, his remarks explain why he seemed off the pace in his first few games wearing the green and white Hoops.
Indeed, Idah said to the Daily Record. See, I wasn’t really active during the preseason.
Before anyone gets too attached, let me clarify that I wasn’t throwing anything or anything; it was just how we trained at Norwich.
We’re in major clubs, so obviously it’s not as intense down there as it is here, but we still want to be on it.
“So yeah, when I first came I was probably a week behind, and now I’m getting the minutes in I’m starting to get goals. I feel good now, and I’m probably not far behind. I just need to keep sticking with it and I’ll get there.”
Celtic training starting to pay off for Adam Idah
Idah has now started to look back to his best and was unfortunate not to get his first goal of the season against Hearts after having a strike ruled offside.
After scoring twice in a fast-paced match against Falkirk on Sunday and against Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League, Idah now has three goals. Under Brendan Rodgers, he was the striker that dazzled the Celtic supporters the previous season.
In order to help defend the Scottish Premiership title this season, fans will be hoping that both strikers will push each other to become prolific this season now that Kyogo Furuhashi has competition for his starting slot.
