Martin Woods will oversee Dale’s midweek trip to Hartlepool United on Tuesday.

The Wigan official was elevated to the National List two years ago, and his debut EFL encounter was Northampton against Colchester in League 2.

He refereed 27 games in his first season, followed by 30 more last season, until the officiating system changed this term, allowing National List officials to referee in League One, League Two, and the National League.

Tuesday will be Martin’s eighth appearance of the season, but only his second in the National League, after Gateshead at Yeovil last month.

He has officiated twice in League Two and three times in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, totaling 24 yellow cards.

This is Mr Woods’ first Dale job, however he managed four Hartlepool games in 2020/21, including three at Victoria Park against Aldershot, Sutton, and Maidenhead.
