Guinness World Records tumble at the Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon as charity fund raisers go the extra mile.

At yesterday’s half marathon in a town, those raising money for charity went above and beyond, smashing records.

For the Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon, thousands of runners, fans, and volunteers flocked to the Portman Road stadium in Ipswich Town as well as the larger town streets.

The 13.1-mile course brought runners across several of the town’s notable sites, including the Waterfront, Holywells Park and the River Orwell. The race began at 9.30 a.m. beside the football pitch.

While Guinness World Records hasn’t formally confirmed it yet, Run For All has revealed that the team is now the new record holder. Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was one of the participants that ran while wearing firefighting gear.
