Travis Kelce has not looked like Travis Kelce.

Everyone knows it, and it’s more evident when he’s the most visible person in the National Football League and is once again competing for the world’s attention on primetime Sunday Night Football. Kelce is hardly the only Chiefs player who has battled. Patrick Mahomes doesn’t look right either, but Kansas City is 3-0.

NBC’s Cris Collinsworth raised concerns about both the Chiefs’ All-Pro tight end and quarterback. He stated unequivocally that the “magic” between Mahomes and Kelce was now lacking.

“I’m just astounded. I mean, one game is a big thing. Collinsworth responds, “All right, two games.” “This is the third game now where we have not seen the magic of Mahomes and Kelce, and I can’t really explain that one.”

At halftime, Mike Tirico noted that Kelce had only six receptions after 10 quarters of play. After the 22-17 win, he’s now played 12 quarters and has only eight receptions for 69 yards.

There’s more at play here, as former Chiefs All-Pro offensive lineman Mitchell Schwartz emphasized Kelce’s effort that goes unnoticed on the box score. Even yet, it doesn’t explain why the finest pairing since Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski has such a significant gap.

Kelce is still doing well, but there hasn’t been a connection between him and Mahomes in three games for whatever reason – Collinsworth is “flabbergasted.”

Whether it’s a transition time or simply a downturn, the Kelce-Mahomes relationship hasn’t been the same.

Collinsworth stated that the “magic” is lacking, and after three games, supporters are left wondering why. However, if there is a combination capable of recovering, it is these two. Despite their problems, the Chiefs are 3-0, and if Kelce and Mahomes can recapture their spark, the rest of the league will have much to worry about.

For the time being, however, we can only sit back and watch, as surprised as Collinsworth was.
