Dan Bardell says Aston Villa have issues to address, but he is delighted with the modernization of Villa Park that has been seen in recent weeks.

The historic old stadium has been repainted, and several LED displays have been installed around the pitch and in the bleachers.

Given the difficulties with Villa Park’s infrastructure and ticket processes, some fans believe that these enhancements are simply filling in the gaps to placate spectators.

Bardell, a Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist, has lauded the stadium’s renovation but believes there are still many concerns for Chris Heck to address.

In an exclusive interview with Villa News, Bardell stated: “I’ve been quite critical of some of the decisions that Chris Heck has made, and obviously he has a remit at the club.”

“He’ll be working on a variety of projects, some of which will entail renovating Villa Park and making it more visually appealing and modern.

“I have no concerns with LED screens; just because they have them doesn’t imply they aren’t paying attention to other things.

“I thought they looked terrific; it was nice to see a more contemporary Villa Park.

“They’ve obviously got a load of other problems and things they need to be working on.”

Chris Heck’s role at Aston Villa is under consideration.

Given the controversy surrounding Champions League ticket prices, many Villa fans do not hold Heck in high regard.

The President of Business Operations cannot be accused of lacking a backbone.

When he takes a decision he believes in, he stands by it and is prepared to back it up in a message to fans when asked.

The new LED displays improve the appearance of Villa Park, giving it a more contemporary vibe and bringing life to the somewhat weary stands.

Having said that, other faults might have been resolved before this one, and Villa supporters would have accepted it and most likely hailed the upgrade.
