The German giants reached the competition’s final last season, and despite being thrashed 5-1 by Stuttgart yesterday, they will remain a powerful force.

We are not deceived, as some followers of a particular team are; we understand that we have a difficult job in Europe, particularly in our away games. We were fortunate to obtain a good start and result against Slovan Bratislava, but things will get much tougher starting next week at the Westfalenstadion.

We can go into these games with confidence and conviction because of our strong start to the campaign. We are far more prepared and structured than we were at this point last season, and whatever we find on our excursions will be a bonus.

We all want the squad to succeed, and they have the potential to do so, but we realize it will be a difficult task.
