Celtic defeated Falkirk 5-2 despite a challenging first 70 minutes to go to the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.
The current Scottish Premiership champions, who had to earn their victory thanks to John McGlynn’s valiant strategy at Celtic Park, will face Aberdeen at Hampden.
On a day when Celtic weren’t playing at their best, Ross MacIver and Finn Yeats raised the stakes with goals each side of Paulo Bernardo’s equalizer. But the cavalry emerged from the bench to seize the initiative, and braces from Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah ensured cup advancement.
Despite having the makings of a tough afternoon, the Bhoys showed character to get the job done, concluding a superb week following their Champions League triumph over Slovan Bratislava.
Resounding scorelines have become Celtic’s forte of late, so it is only appropriate we revel in the class moments as Falkirk were the latest opposition to come undone in Glasgow’s east end.

As always, Celtic have produced their distinct angle film, and there is plenty to chew over following another winning day for the men in hoops.
It would be reasonable to begin with Bernardo’s equalizing goal, after which Alex Valle and he both responded angrily, frustrated by Falkirk’s strong start at Celtic Park.
Idah’s leveller prompted more of a muted response as his main concern was to head back to the centre circle as Celtic attempted to reclaim the edge, but his strike to claim a brace was worth waiting for few seconds later.
After Kuhn grabbed the ball from Sean Mackie, the Irishman’s wonderful touch and finish were followed by a fantastic knee slide in front of the supporters before he was swarmed by starting teammates and substitutes, which led to him geeing up the crowd ahead of the Bhoys closing strongly.
In contrast, opponent Kuhn looked cool as a cucumber as he happily wheeled away following a double of his own, bringing some added shine to a scoreline typical of the Hoops’ mentality to battle right to the end this year.
Overall, Celtic had a strong sense of resolve to go ahead by such a large margin after previously being in a difficult situation. Hopefully, they can continue their fantastic run away to St Johnstone this weekend!
