‘A great feeling…’ West Brom star makes frank admission about his future after Sassuolo disappointment.

A summer signing for West Brom has sent a poignant message after making a good start to life in the Midlands.

After making a good start to his career at West Brom, Uros Racic has acknowledged that he is once again loving his game.

The 26-year-old, who came to the Baggies on a season-long loan from Italian team Sassuolo, has contributed to the team’s early-season success at the top of the table. Racic started the Championship season for the first time and assisted Josh Maja in scoring as WBA defeated Plymouth Argyle over the weekend.

The 12-time Serbia international suffered relegation with Sassuolo last season, and so a change in scenery has given him a new lease of life. Instead of playing in a side that was battling for relegation, he is now gearing up for a promotion charge at the Hawthorns.

In a post on his personal Instagram on Sunday night, Racic said, “Like most kids, I started playing football out of love.”

It’s been a while since I’ve felt exactly the same way.

“I like every practice and new game, as well as every goal and assist.

In the most important of games, it feels amazing to be able to help the team score points. It would be my great pleasure to remain healthy and fit until the end of the season, allowing for even more incredible matches.

West Brom needed a combative defensive midfielder after Okay Yokuslu left, and Racic has filled that role thus far. He waited patiently for an opportunity, and now that Jayson Molumby might not play against Sheffield on Wednesday, he may get another chance to impress the management.

Racic’s contract with Sassuolo, his parent club, expires in the summer of 2027. When West Brom and Sassuolo agreed on a season-long contract, there was no requirement to purchase.
