Sky Sports pundit blown away by what 'magnificent' Aston Villa player did vs Wolves

For the second Saturday in a row, Aston Villa rallied from behind to defeat midlands rivals Wolves 3-1 at Villa Park.

Unai Emery made one change to the starting lineup that beat Everton on Saturday, replacing Lamare Bogarde with Diego Carlos and moving Ezri Konsa to right back.

Emery’s choice to start Carlos led to Wolves’ first goal, which was scored by Matheus Cunha after a sloppy pass.

Wolves had several chances to expand their advantage in the first half, but Aston Villa hung on and scored a spectacular comeback in the second.

Villa scored three goals in the final 20 minutes after Ross Barkley and Jhon Duran replaced Jacob Ramsey and Amadou Onana.

Ollie Watkins brought the hosts back level before Konsa equalised and super sub Duran sealed the victory, but Tim Sherwood was more delighted by another player.

‘Magnificent’ Morgan Rogers versus Wolves left Tim Sherwood speechless.

Rogers has been labeled ‘unplayable’ for Villa this season, including a 3-0 Champions League victory over Young Boys.

Rogers, 22, delivered on his promise against Wolves, especially in the second half when he led a remarkable comeback.

For their equalizer, the Englishman scooped up the ball in a gap and passed it through Watkins for his first assist of the season.

Rogers then provided his second assist of the afternoon when his left-footed cross was perfectly weighted into the path of Duran, who hammered the ball home.

“He gets down the outside, Morgan Rogers, absolutely magnificent he’s been all afternoon,” she commented.

“The ball is sent down the outside and appears to be an easy pass, yet it seems to be missed every week in the Premier League. He simply squares it across and gives him [Jhon Duran] an easy tap-in from six yards. Rogers’ performance was just fantastic.”

Morgan Rogers’ brilliance vs Wolves

Despite not scoring yet this season, the £15 million signing contributed two assists to his teammates.

The major task for the young offensive midfielder was to translate his dazzling performances into goal involvements, which he accomplished during his sensational comeback at Villa Park.

Rogers may be delighted with his performances in a Villa shirt, but he must now maintain a high level of consistency in his efforts.
