Morgan Rogers hails Aston Villa 'game-changer' after comeback win against Wolves

After picking up three points against Wolves on Saturday, Aston Villa returns home for another comeback triumph.

Aston Villa, led by Jon Duran, have overtaken Everton as their Midland rivals continue to struggle.

On one hand, it’s a nice habit to have since Unai Emery is seeing his side pick up maximum points while not playing well.

However, Aston Villa must improve their defensive performance or risk losing against a stronger club.

Diego Carlos is not a regular starter for Villa, as seen by his contribution to Matheus Cunha’s first goal.

Villa had a disastrous first hour, but half-time alterations and second-half substitutes turned the tide in their favor, and the flame was lit.

Ollie Watkins led the comeback, with Ezri Konsa scoring against Wolves before Duran scored again off the bench.

Morgan Rogers earned two assists, a much-needed reward for his season-long efforts.

Ross Barkley was the unsung hero for Villa, taking control of the game after coming on like he did against Everton.

Rogers referred to Barkley as a ‘game-changer’ in the comments section of his Instagram post.

Ross Barkley will replace the injured John McGinn.

Villa have lost McGinn to a hamstring injury, allowing Barkley to start key games in the upcoming weeks.

The major game is against Bayern Munich, and it appears like McGinn will not be ready, but the club has bench strength.

He is an unsung star in the midfield and is making Villa not miss Douglas Luiz, who moved to Juventus this summer.
