Liverpool’s predicted XI for Bournemouth: Arne Slot makes three changes with first start awarded

Liverpool vs Bournemouth: The Cherries head to Anfield after losing to Chelsea last time out.

Liverpool’s focus has shifted back to the Premier League after a strong performance in Europe this week.

It has greater significance than normal because they were trounced at Anfield by Nottingham Forest last weekend. Arne Slot’s side returned to winning ways with a great display against AC Milan at the San Siro, and they will want to maintain their good form in familiar surroundings. Following this game, they will face West Ham United in the third round of the EFL Cup, and we should expect further wholesale changes there.
Ahead of the game, we’ve opted to forecast what the starting lineup would look like, which will undoubtedly vary given that Slot changed his side for the win on Tuesday night, although he prefers to be consistent in his selections. As a result, he represents our best guess for how the Reds will form up.

GK – Caoimhin Kelleher

With Alisson out with a hamstring injury, it seems sense not to put him at risk when the Irishman is an excellent backup who can easily step up.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold
He will most likely be rested against West Ham in the coming week, but he can continue here and will be crucial in unlocking Bournemouth.

CB: Virgil van Dijk
Another player who will be rested next week; they need him to return to league winning form. He scored earlier this week and could like his chances again from set pieces.

CB: Ibrahim Konate
Impressive this week, Konate has been in excellent form and will be need to neutralize Evanilson, the 25-goal scorer from last season.

LB: Andy Robertson
He should return to play today after a week off, but Kostas Tsimikas put up a great performance aside from his early mistake.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch
One of Slot’s top performances this season, he should play at least one more game before Wataru Endo is called up for the cup game.

CM – Alexis MacAllister.
He will most likely play again here, but will miss the midweek game due to a tight schedule for both club and nation.

CM: Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Hungarian scored for the first time this season throughout the week and is on the verge of producing some really impressive form for the club.

RW: Mohamed Salah
Salah, a goal-scoring machine against Bournemouth, will be desperate to score after hitting the crossbar twice in Milan.

LW: Cody Gakpo
In terms of major decisions, things could go either way. Gakpo was in excellent shape this week and was scheduled to start against Forest last time out, but due to his involvement in both of the Netherlands’ games, he was benched until Milan. It may be difficult not to start him after his outstanding performance this week.

Darwin Nunez is expected to be given a chance against West Ham, although Jota struggled more than any other Liverpool player this week. A home game against Bournemouth could be ideal for the Uruguayan.
