‘Too Much’ – Vladimir Weiss Reacts to Celtic Park Jeers and Defeat

‘Too Much’ – Vladimir Weiss Reacts to Celtic Park Jeers and Defeat.

Vladimir Weiss ignored the predictable jeers from the Hoops fan base tonight as he accepted his welcome at Celtic Park. The former player for Rangers, who formerly wore the renowned Ibrox blue, candidly acknowledged that he has changed since then and that his previous remarks on Celtic were just the kind of “silly” things that a young guy says.

Weiss, who is currently captain of Slovan Bratislava, watched as a rampant Celtic completely destroyed his team, resulting in a humiliating 5-1 loss.

He believes that if he had taken advantage of a great opportunity while the game was still goalless, the outcome of the game might have been different. Ultimately, though, he was limited to witnessing Brendan Rodgers’ squad perform what he referred to as “fast, modern football.”

“The jeering was okay,” Weiss remarked following the game that CeltsAreHere was present at. “He grinned wryly and continued, “It’s great that they still remember me, even though it’s been a long time.”

Weiss knew his team would have a difficult night as he thought back on the game, but he couldn’t help but wonder how things could have turned out if he had taken that early opportunity. “The game was exactly as challenging as we had anticipated. However, I believe I had a decent opportunity at 0-0; perhaps things are different if I disregard that. It was not to be, sadly.

Weiss was fast to compliment their performance under Rodgers. “They demonstrated their abilities tonight. They played so quickly that we were unable to keep up.

In addition, the Slovakian international, who occasionally made contentious remarks about Rangers’ Glasgow rivals, had positive memories of his brief time there. “My experience as a Ranger was amazing. I was young, having only been here for a year, and I used to say some dumb things about Celtic. Though I’ve changed since then, it was all a part of the rivalry. Tonight, I had hoped for a better outcome, but that’s football.

The game served as a stinging reminder to Weiss of the disparity in talent between his Slovan club and the Celtics, who are once again emerging as a formidable force behind Rodgers. Nevertheless, he handled the response and outcome gracefully, understanding full well that Glasgow football supporters never forget.
