Sheaf, Dasilva, Latibeaudiere – Coventry City injury latest as star midfielder suffers setback.
CoventryLive provides updates on injuries for Coventry City, with Sky Blues captain Ben Sheaf continuing to be a concern after his comeback against Tottenham.
When Ben Sheaf came to the pitch for Coventry City in the last 20 minutes of Wednesday night’s intense Carabao Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur, he was met with a warm ovation.
After the game, manager Mark Robins said the player had yet another setback in his quest to return to full fitness this season. This was concerning news. Not only is the Sky Blues player out of commission, but full-back Jay Dasilva also missed last night’s game owing to an ankle ailment, while Joel Latibeaudiere was also sidelined due to muscular exhaustion from playing too many games.
Sheaf is still questionable, but the two defenders should be well enough to play in Saturday’s Championship match at the CBS Arena against Swansea City.
After Spurs’ 2-1 home loss, the manager remarked, “Ben was icing his ankle in the dressing room and I am hoping it’s nothing bad but I don’t know yet.”
Joel Latibeaudiere was rested since he was cramping up in the previous game, but Jay took a knock on Saturday against Watford. Hopefully, he will be back to full strength this weekend.
