There is little doubt that Everton manager Sean Dyche is under pressure ahead of this weekend’s game.
This season, the 53-year-old has led his team to no wins in the Premier League and was also eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
Such a poor start is partly understandable, especially given last season’s comparable run, but with a trip to Leicester City this weekend, it’s widely acknowledged that they need to start scoring points sooner rather than later.
If he fails to do so, he may lose his job.
Could Everton sack Sean Dyche soon?
There are several circumstances that could lead to Sean Dyche’s dismissal, many of which are unrelated to football.
After all, with the turmoil and volatility inside the Everton hierarchy, it’s still unclear who is making these types of decisions.
Farhad Moshiri is often absent, leading others to believe that no one has the authority to dismiss him.
A loss and another dismal performance on Saturday, however, might make his position untenable, especially given mounting fan anger.
If it occurs, someone on the Everton board must make a decision. Arguably, his short-term replacement has been staring them in the face for a while.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer could be a perfect fit for Everton
Everton may be interested in Graham Potter, although his style differs from Dyche’s, making his short-term success uncertain.
Perhaps it would be more prudent to hire a temporary manager to oversee the remainder of the season.
Fortunately, one of the most successful caretaker managers in recent memory is still available as a free agent, with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer having failed to find another position since departing Manchester United in 2021.
Despite not being the most remarkable manager, his time at Old Trafford is usually recognised as one of the most successful in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson period.
Although criticised for his lack of ambition and a play style that many considered as far from competent enough to constantly compete for major honours, this plucky mindset would work lot better with Everton, whose expectations are naturally lower than at Manchester United.
He employs a quick, dynamic counter-attacking style to catch the opposition off guard, supported by a strong backline, and some of the football played under his watch was outstanding.

The Toffees have had a disastrous first four Premier League games, failing to win a single point. The Merseyside team was also eliminated from the Carabao Cup on penalties by Southampton on Tuesday night, putting pressure on the former Burnley boss.
Dyche was able to coax a tune out of his Everton team last season, allowing them to stay up despite many point deductions, but things have deteriorated since then.
