Mina Kimes’ wild Raiders QB trade idea would make them Super Bowl contenders

Mina Kimes’ wild Raiders QB trade idea would make them Super Bowl contenders.

Being a Las Vegas Raiders fan right now is a GREAT thing. The Raiders were the only team to win better in Week 2, when they humiliated the Baltimore Ravens by going into their home stadium as 10-point underdogs. And although there are always a few wacky September games in an NFL season, the Raiders showed fans that they’re certainly not the worst team in the AFC West, even though they might not be the best.

However, we’ve seen how far Gardner Minshew can take a team, so their ceiling is still essentially as high as he can push them. Tom Telesco and Antonio Pierce’s first goal this summer will likely be adding QB1 to the roster, but *drum roll* what if I told you they didn’t have to wait so long? What if they could win the Super Bowl handily this season by making a trade for a quarterback? Do you think that would be interesting?

It took Gronk just two weeks to bestow the highest praise on Brock Bowers.

Mina Kimes would be interested in that. Yesterday, she discussed the Rams and Stafford’s current situation on NFL Live. It appears as though the Rams’ season is already pretty well over with three of the Raiders’ starting linemen and their two best receivers on injured reserve. The NFL Live crew then discussed Stafford’s alternatives and discussed trading him as a result. At that point, Kimes came up with the greatest concept in NFL Live’s history—possibly even in ESPN history overall.

Matt Stafford and the Raiders make all the sense in the world

“If [the Rams] were to make that decision, ok, what teams are we talking about,” asked Kimes. “I’m going to give you all a pitch. The Assailants? After seeing them play for the first two weeks, I think that’s a great defence. One of the NFL’s top wide receivers is still Davante Adams. Brock Bowers appears to be a cool guy. I’m merely making a suggestion.”

Indeed! I’m grateful. What a sensible concept. Sorry, Gardner Minshew, but life happens and you’re not Matt Stafford. The Rams’ awful first two weeks make it unlikely that they deal Stafford, but if they do, it would be Tom Telesco’s big break. If you can’t acquire a real good QB, it’s not worth passing on, no matter how much Minshew Magic there is. All that’s left to do is for Kimes to watch NFL Live every day and keep saying the same thing until it happens.

Should the Raiders of Las Vegas wait for Manning to return as their starting quarterback next season?
