Micah Richards asks Jamie Carragher if he prefers Celtic or Rangers, he doesn’t hesitate

On Tuesday, Scottish football received a bit of an endorsement on US television, with Celtic mentioned.

Celtic will face Slovan Bratislava in their Champions League opener on Wednesday. CBS Sports will broadcast the game.

If you haven’t noticed, CBS Sports has become a popular choice for Champions League coverage, with host Kate Abdo, great striker Thierry Henry, 2005 Champions League winner Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards, a two-time Premier League champion.

CBS covers football from all over the world, including Scotland’s top flight, in addition to Champions League matches.

Celtic dominated Rangers before the international break, with Brendan Rodgers’ team achieving a perfect start to the season and seeking to carry that momentum into Europe.

However, during CBS’ coverage, they prefer to give a comedic element and keep things light-hearted, with Carragher and Richards invited to plug a few things for the broadcast.

From forthcoming Premier League games to American fans being able to see Scottish football.

Richards asked Carragher about his preference between the two Glasgow clubs, and he didn’t hesitate, as reported by CBS Sports on Paramount+ (17/09/24, 6:55 pm).

Celtic over Rangers

“Celtic or Rangers,” asked Richards, then Carragher responded: “I am Celtic.”

Celtic’s 100% start

Celtic are currently dominating the league and are likely to win another title.

Fans are focussing on the overhauled Champions League format and its potential to benefit the Scottish champions, rather than domestic performances.

Rodgers will be hoping that his team is talked and examined by the likes of Carragher, Richards, and Henry after January, since this will mean passage to the knockout stages.

Put Celtic’s away ties aside for a moment; they should be knocking down that door and racking up wins at home, and the rest will fall into place.
