‘Great job’ not poisoned chalice awaits Narcis Pelach at Stoke City.

Charlie Adam thinks a strong personality is essential for any Stoke City manager or head coach to lead the team to success.

Becoming the head coach of Stoke City is a fantastic position, according to Charlie Adam.

Last night, Adam made his bet365 Stadium comeback as Fleetwood Town’s manager. Thanks to an equaliser in the ninetieth minute, his team forced Stoke to a penalty shootout in the Carabao Cup third round. After playing for seven years at Stoke under Mark Hughes, where he helped the team finish in the top half of the Premier League, he witnessed a succession of managers take over in the final few seasons as the team was relegated to the Championship.

Since departing in 2019, he has been upset that Stoke have been unable to climb back up the league table, and he is disappointed for Steven Schumacher, whom he had relied on for assistance on his own career in recent months. Despite being referred to as a “poison chalice” by Schumacher during his first press conference, Adam views it as a valuable chance.

“It’s an amazing job, an amazing job,” he said to the Sentinel. “I don’t see that changing for a very long time because of the incredible player quality, the amazing budget, the amazing training facility, the amazing staff, the incredible owners, and the incredible family dedication.” Whoever gets it, they have a terrific job. As a former athlete, you’re always rooting for them because you’re watching from a distance. There’s a well-positioned dressing room there. The previous window’s hiring was strong, and the team is primed for success this season.”

Adam was pleased with both his Fleetwood squad and himself for being on the sidelines at a venue that had played such a significant role in his life..

He remarked, “It’s extremely uncommon to be able to return as a manager after being a player.”

Losing a manager is always disappointing, especially one like Steven, who I had the pleasure of getting to know well during the summer and who I relied heavily on for advice on trying to truly grasp League Two. Although it is disheartening, the person who replaces him or her will be extremely fortunate to hold that role. You need to have personality to be manager of this fantastic football club.
