Exclusive: 18-Year-Old Southampton Star ‘Expected to Sign New Deal’.

As Tyler Dibling is eager to stick with his current employers and is enjoying working under head coach Russell Martin during the early parts of the season, Southampton is expected to persuade the Manchester United target to sign an improved contract at St Mary’s, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

Saints, who made their way back to the Premier League through the Championship play-offs the previous season, went all out for reinforcements during the summer transfer window, spending close to £100 million. The South Coast team hopes to avoid falling back into the second division at the first opportunity.

A £2.8 million loan fee that was agreed upon with West Ham United and his willingness to pay 100% of his wages allowed Maxwel Cornet to join Southampton as one of the new players, but Martin is still eager to give fellow winger Dibling playing time after the player made an impression at the youth level.

According to GMS sources, Southampton intends to extend an offer to Dibling for a new contract with substantially better terms after he impressed during the first few exchanges of the campaign. Dibling is also expected to sign a contract since he has indicated that he is not interested in taking on a new challenge elsewhere.

The 18-year-old made his first Premier League start of the season against Manchester United last weekend, and he has now made six appearances overall. This shows that Martin and other important players think highly of him behind the scenes and want to give him chances to establish himself.

Although Dibling is more likely to sign a contract because he enjoys playing football on the south coast, GMS sources have learnt that Southampton has significantly boosted their efforts to tie him down to an extended deal. Nevertheless, since he is already signed through a healthy contract, all parties are taking their time negotiating.

Though his current employers have the option to trigger a 12-month extension to prolong his stay at St Mary’s, the three-cap England under-19 international only signed his first professional agreement last December, keeping Saints on their books until the summer of 2026. This puts them in a strong position should suitors try to test their resolve.

After a strong start to the season and an impressive showing behind the scenes at Staplewood, Southampton is determined that they must give Dibling a pay increase, GMS sources have learnt. If they are unable to persuade him to sign a contract, fans are afraid that they will take their talents to the bargaining table in the coming year.

Red Devils Among Suitors Monitoring Dibling

According to GMS sources, Manchester United may try to court Dibling since sports director Dan Ashworth, who has remained a huge fan of the teenager, did so when he was in charge of Newcastle United’s recruitment campaign and decided not to make a move at this time.

The Red Devils are also seeking to bolster their under-21 roster at Old Trafford. This is because Southampton’s Premier League rivals are circling before they possibly try to close a deal, since their new director of negotiations was previously proactive in trying to bring him to the academy at St James’ Park.

Although Ashworth’s departure hasn’t stopped Newcastle from pursuing Dibling, GMS sources understand that Crystal Palace is also interested in him. Stuttgart, a Bundesliga team, will have a difficult time luring Dibling away from St Mary’s, as it is unlikely that he would consider moving abroad at this point in his career.

The wide player has been described as very grounded and having a sharp sense of humour by those behind the scenes, and he is happy on Saints’ books after settling in and earning the respect of his teammates. His goal is to eventually be among the first names on the team sheet.

Dibling is most effective when he is settled, which is why his brief stint at Chelsea did not work out and he did not enjoy his time at Cobham. He struggled with the magnitude of the move and felt the atmosphere was not as homely as Southampton, which led him to conclude that west London was not the best place for him, either personally or professionally.

When Ralph Hasenhuttl was still in the driver’s seat in May 2022, GMS reported that the thrilling livewire was already highly regarded on the south coast. Saints are eager to tie him down to better terms in order to keep him out of the hands of Manchester United, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Stuttgart.
