Celtic set for high profile Match Of The Day slot as new broadcast rights kick in

Excitement is rising ahead of tonight’s Champions League debut as the Celtic fans look forward to some of Europe’s top clubs visiting Paradise.

With Slovan Bratislava, Young Boys, Dinamo Zagreb, Club Brugge, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta, and Aston Villa drawn against each other in the Champions League, Celtic will be looking to start the season strong against Slovan Bratislava. The match will be aired live on TNT Sports 2 at 7:15 p.m. tonight. Celtic will receive a lot of exposure by competing in the biggest competition in Europe, but that is not the only place where supporters of the team can watch their heroes.

 

BBC’s Match of the Day will feature Celtic.

After securing a £20 million deal to broadcast highlights of the UEFA tournament this season, the BBC is expected to provide Champions League football once more. Under the Match of the Day banner, the show will be hosted on Wednesday nights by Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman, with an additional Thursday night show beamed out for the opening round of fixtures, featuring Celtic. The show will be aired live on terrestrial television tonight as well as being available online on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. Gary Lineker will not be participating.
