Sunderland transfer claim made with Liverpool and Everton eyeing summer deal – reports.
According to reports, Everton and Liverpool are interested in Sunderland custodian Anthony Patterson.
According to HITC, Patterson is on Everton’s short list of goalkeepers in case Jordan Pickford decides to leave.
With the Black Cats in the automatic promotion spots after five games and three clean sheets, Patterson has come under fire. Many fans felt he should have done better for the winning goal by Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth last weekend.
The 24-year-old has been a crucial member of Sunderland’s starting lineup since the middle of the Black Cats’ League One championship run. During the previous season, Patterson participated in 45 of the team’s Championship games; Manchester City and Arsenal were reportedly interested in signing him.
According to HITC, Patterson is also being considered by Liverpool as Arne Slot’s team gets ready for Caoimhin Kelleher’s anticipated exit in 2025. The Republic of Ireland custodian is reportedly looking for consistent playing time.
