Birmingham City announce huge partnership with $59bn company to kickstart ‘defining era’

Birmingham City have struck a deal to make Delta their official airline partner for this season.

Before bringing Wrexham to St Andrew’s on Monday night, Birmingham City unveiled a massive new collaboration with Delta Airlines,

the world’s largest airline company. Delta will become the Blues’ official airline partner for the 2024/25 season, marking the latest

example of Knighthead Capital’s aim to elevate the club to England’s elite in the coming years.

Since Knighthead’s arrival over a year ago, the Blues have consistently struck eye-catching deals with companies such as Undefeated, who

sponsor the club’s shirts, while also announcing highly exciting plans to invest billions of dollars in a brand new Sports Quarter, which will

be the club’s new home by the end of the decade.

Delta Airlines, which reported sales of $59 billion in May 2024 and is estimated to be worth almost $11 billion, has become the latest

global partner in a deal that is projected to considerably enhance Blues’ revenue streams even more.

“We’re excited to welcome Delta to the Blues family,” stated Tom Wagner. “As we continue to use our resources to deliver Birmingham

City to a global audience, Delta’s extensive network will help us connect our international fan communities and propel them and our

squad to new heights. Delta, along with world-class brands like UNDEFEATED and Nike, shares our objective of elevating the club. This is

the start of a defining period in our nearly 150-year history.”

“Delta is one of the world’s leading brands,” CEO Garry Cook explained. “Delta’s rally cry, “Keep Climbing,” reflects Birmingham City’s

current adventure. Blues will be one of the most intriguing tales in sport over the next five years. Our teams are at the beginning of a

revolutionary journey.

“Our charitable Foundation is now assisting hundreds of thousands of people throughout the city in beginning to live better lives; leading

global brands are eager to collaborate with us because of the value we can bring; and our owners are spearheading one of the country’s

largest infrastructure projects, the Sports Quarter, in East Birmingham.

“It will attract millions of people each year, with many choosing to arrive on Delta flights. Birmingham, in collaboration with Delta, is

undoubtedly on the rise.”

“Birmingham City Football Club is an important part of the fabric of England’s second-largest city,” stated Matteo Curcio, Delta’s senior

vice president for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. “We’re excited to be part of the club’s storytelling as they work towards the

highest levels of football.”
