Villa player ratings against Everton: Key trio pivotal in stunning comeback victory.

John Townley's Aston Villa player ratings vs Everton as Emi Martinez and Alex Moreno impress in 0-0 draw - John Townley - Birmingham Live

Jhon Duran sealed Aston Villa’s comeback against Everton with a spectacular goal past Jordan Pickford.

On Saturday evening, Aston Villa defeated Everton 3-2, with Jhon Duran scoring a fantastic goal to seal the victory.

Despite dominating the first half, Villa fell behind 2-0 after surrendering two sloppy goals to Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who put the visitors in possession.

However, Villa’s reaction was really outstanding. We not only remained patient and controlled, but we were meticulous in our efforts to probe and break Everton down, and we eventually received our rewards.

Ollie Watkins scored a crucial brace to bring us level, ending his goal drought, then Duran struck from distance to score another winning goal this season off the bench, as we made it three victories in four to begin the Premier League season.

Aston Villa Player Ratings versus Everton:

Emiliano Martinez, 6-Will may feel that he might have done better in his efforts to prevent both goals. He didn’t have much more to do, but his distribution was accurate, and he was confident in the closing minutes to help us cling on for the victory.

Lamare Bogarde (6.5) continues to impress with his performance. He struggled defensively at times and was restricted moving forward, with the exception of one beautiful pass that set up a massive goal, but he continues to fill in effectively.

Ezri Konsa, 7 –Made a crucial intervention to deny Calvert-Lewin, and he was an essential muscular presence at the back, winning duels and suffocating Everton’s counterattacks with his recovery pace.

Pau Torres, 6–As always, he was an influential possession player, and his technical skill was critical to our build-up play from the back. However, he struggled in his physical clash with Calvert-Lewin, which is an area where he has to improve.

Lucas Digne (6.5) contributed to our first goal, which Watkins scored from the back post. We defended valiantly and made several encouraging surges forward along the left wing to gain width.

Amadou Onana, 5.5, was replaced at halftime after laboring in the first 45 minutes. Was dispossessed for Everton’s opening goal, and he lacked the impact and presence in midfield to help us gain a footing in the game.

Youri Tielemans, 8 – The Belgian midfielder continues to excel as the primary creator and orchestrator in the midfield. He repeatedly shown his ability to play through the lines to put us on the offensive and create attacking space in Everton’s half, while his probing balls over the top forced errors and provided opportunities for our attacking players.

Villa’s captain, John McGinn, worked tirelessly and played a crucial role in the team’s successful comeback. However, he has had limited influence in the offensive phase and will undoubtedly want to make a more significant contribution in the future.

Morgan Rogers, 7 –He is a continuous danger because of his ability to identify open spaces and surge forward with the ball at his feet. His finishing and end product have let him down so far this season, but if he can add a clinical edge to his game, he’ll be a key player week in and week out.

Jacob Ramsey (6.5) is a talented player who excels at linking up in the final third and moves well in offensive situations. However, I was unable to make a significant difference at times, but overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Ollie Watkins, 8 –It’s great to see him back among the goals, and it should give him a big boost of confidence going forward. He said after the game that he’s still not 100 percent physically, but it was important for him to get on the scoreboard, and he could have had more if he had been more clinical.

Substitutes:

Ross Barkley, 7 –In the second half, he played an important role in midfield, assisting Villa in dictating and controlling possession and tempo, allowing us to generate persistent pressure and find chances.

Ian Maatsen, 6.5.Positive runs forward added a fresh aspect to our approach, and we were careful on defense. Should have got an assist after setting up a golden chance for Watkins, but it was an encouraging performance as he competes for a greater position.

Jhon Duran, 8 –What a goal. While the strike was stunning, the 20-year-old has already won three times this season. He ran about, putting Everton under pressure, and aside from his winning contributions, he’s making a really great impression every time he comes in, demonstrating that he has the proper attitude and mentality to put the team first and demonstrate his skill.

Emiliano Buendia, N/A.Great to have him back; hopefully he can continue to expand his minutes now that he demonstrated a deft touch and flare to assist speed up our build-up play.
