Following an unprovoked attack, a Sunderland thug rendered a Newcastle bar employee unconscious and required stitches.

Niall Hannon, a drunken partygoer, left a bar steward unconscious and in need of facial stitches after he launched an unprovoked attack outside some restrooms. The victim was punched multiple times by Hannon, including while he lay hurt on the floor, at Newcastle’s Irish Centre.
The steward had confronted the 27-year-old and another man outside the gents because he thought they were acting suspiciously and asked them to move. However, as soon as the two left, Hannon lost his temper and attacked the unwary victim, striking him.  According to his attorney, Hannon, of Elgin, Doxford Park, Sunderland, fled the scene but realized what he had done the following day and went to a police station to confess. The criminal, who has a history of violent convictions in his native Ireland, has now narrowly escaped jail time after entering a guilty plea to an assault charge that resulted in actual bodily harm.

District Judge Paul Currer sentenced him to 26 weeks in prison with an 18-month suspension after hearing his plea of guilty to a severe offense. That evening, you headed to the Irish Center. You went to the restroom in the club with another man, and when the steward noticed you there, he became suspicious and ordered you to leave.

“The man’s wounds had skin flaps hanging off of them. They need sutures because they were that bad. It was a needless and quite deadly attack. Based on your past, it seems that you lack self-control when under the influence of alcohol.” The victim of the incident, which occurred on January 27 of this year, required stitches and hospital treatment, according to testimony given in court. In addition, he had to start taking antibiotics and was referred to a facial team.
